Nicolas Theocharides, Board Member, Invest Cyprus
Nicolas Theocharides is a Director in regulated Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) as well as in other substantial companies. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Invest Cyprus since 2011 and is the Chairman of the Promotion Committee of the Board. A qualified banker - Associate of the Institute of Financial Services of the UK, he previously held during a successful 20 year banking career, several management posts in International Business and Private Banking with one of the large local banks in Cyprus. He was for over ten years the CEO and Executive Chairman of a regulated wealth management boutique. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Russia Business Association and of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus China Business Association. Nicolas is an economist and holds a BA in Economics and Law from the University of East Anglia and an MBA from CIIM and attended as a scholar at Harvard University a post Masters course on Investment Appraisal and Management. He has a special interest and training in matters of Corporate Governance.

Michalis P. Michael, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Invest Cyprus
Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services, both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner at KPMG Cyprus. Michalis has vast experience in the Ukrainian market and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michalis has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003), Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016), where he held the position of Vice-President (July 2016-2018). Michalis is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he also served as a Member of the Board of Directors.

George Campanellas, CEO, Invest Cyprus
George Campanellas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He has nearly twenty years of professional experience in Cyprus and abroad, working with the DG Competition in Brussels and directly with the Cypriot Ministers of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism. George has been actively involved in the development of the oil & gas sector in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone, dealing with licensing, exploration and exploitation activities, as well as promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at a regional level. Throughout his career, he also had an active role in drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting Foreign Direct Investment in sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the LNG terminal at Vasilikos Energy Center, Cyprus Techno Park, EuroAsia Interconnector and the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated casino resort and Cyprus’ largest FDI project.

Charalambos A Sergiou, Partner, Tax Advisory, PwC Cyprus
Charalambos Sergiou is a Tax Partner in Tax Advisory team at PwC Cyprus. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and a member of the Instituteof Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He started his career with PwC in Cyprus and he has also worked on a secondment in PwC Russia heading the PwC’s Cyprus tax desk in Moscow. Charalambos has more than fifteen years of experience in Cyprus and international tax and has been advising a variety of clients across different industries including oil and gas,banking, insurance, asset management, automotive, pharmaceuticals and real estate structureswith regards to Cyprus and international tax matters. He follows a holistic approach with a focus on international tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, deal structuring and financing. He is primarily focused on Russian and CIS markets and he is among the lead partners of PwC Cyprus focusing on the tax consulting and business development efforts in relation these markets.

Costas Markides, Board Member, KPMG in Cyprus
Costas Markides is a Board Member at KPMG in Cyprus. He is a Southern Illinois University graduate holding a Masters degree in Accountancy with special concentration on International Taxation. He has been the recipient of two full academic scholarships and has graduated first in his class at the College of Business Administration with a perfect score. In 2016, he has been nominated for induction into the College of Business Hall of Fame, one of the highest honorsbestowed to an alumni. Costas is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Before taking up employment with KPMG, Costas worked as the director of research at The Center of Financial and Tax Planning in the US. Here returned to Cyprus in 1999 and was employed in one of the Big 4 in Cyprus. As of 2002 he has been working for KPMG in Cyprus and he has been accepted as a Member of the Board as of 2011. Costasis a specialist in the field of International Taxation and is a regular speaker at various seminars that are being organized in Cyprus and abroad. He is the author of numerous Tax related articles in professional publications in Cyprus and the US. Costas has been active in advising clients onefficiently structuring their international tax affairs in and through Cyprus. He is also heading the Global Mobility and Transfer Pricing Services divisions within KPMG.

Alecos Papalexandrou, Partner, Tax & Legal Services, Business Tax, Deloitte
Alecos Papalexandrou is a Tax Partner, based in the Limassol office, with a focus on BusinessTax. Alecos has 17 years of experience in national and international tax planning, tax complianceissues and finance. He has been involved in a number of international corporate restructuring projects and has extensive experience in tax due diligence and international tax planning projects.Alecos provides tax advice across a range of industries, including oilfield services, shipping, realestate, financial services and banking.

Michalis Michael, Head International Banking Unit Astrobank Public Company Ltd
Michalis Michael has been working with Astrobank since January 2010 currently holding the position of the Head, International Banking Unit. He started his banking career in 1989 with Bank of Cyprus Ltd and worked his way up in relationship banking through various positions in both Retail and Corporate Banking. His various positions included Credit Officer, Branch manager, Corporate Credit Manager and Head of Loans Department of International Banking. Michael is a holder of a BSc (Honors) degree in Financial Services from University of Manchester (UMIST). He is also an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of England and Wales.

Andreas Yiasemides, President, Cyprus Investment Funds Association
Andreas Yiasemides is the President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and a Partner at PwC Cyprus, in charge of the Fund Services of the organisation. On his graduation from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Economics, he joined PwC in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (FCA). He continued his career with the Bank of Cyprus, holding various positions including heading the Custody and Trusts Unit. He then moved on to an organisation of professional services where he set up and led the Fund Services Unit. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus and of the Central Bank of Cyprus as well as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He is also Vice Chairman  of the Cyprus National Advisory Council of Charter Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Andreas Yiasemides has also been elected as the President of the Cyprus India Business Association.

Stephanie Panayi, Head of Strategic Projects, Invest Cyprus
Stephanie Panayi is the Head of Strategic Projects at Invest Cyprus. She joined Invest Cyprus in 2019. She is experienced in the field of foreign direct investment, investor relationsmanagement, business development and investment promotion. Her role is focused on identifyingand promoting investment opportunities available in Cyprus and ensuring the channeling ofinformation to existing or potential investors, through coordination and implementation of strategiesto attract businesses and investments into Cyprus. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’ s Degree in AppliedForeign Languages and a Master’ s Degree in MSc International Management & Business. Stephanieis also the Young BPW Cyprus Representative of the Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW). She is fluent in Greek, English and French and conversant in Russian.
