Nicolas Theocharides, Board Member, Invest Cyprus

Nicolas Theocharides is a Director in regulated Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) as well as in othersubstantial companies. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Invest Cyprus since 2011 and is the Chairman of the Promotion Committee of the Board. A qualified banker - Associate of the Institute of Financial Services of the UK, he previously held during a successful 20 year banking career, several management posts in International Business and Private Banking with one of the large local banks in Cyprus. He was for over ten years the CEO and Executive Chairman of a regulated wealth management boutique. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Russia Business Association and of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus China Business Association. Mr. Theocharides is an economist and holds a BA in Economics and Law from the University of East Anglia and an MBA from CIIM and attended as a scholar at Harvard University a post Masters course on Investment Appraisal and Management. He has a special interest and training in matters of Corporate Governance.

Michalis P. Michael, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Invest Cyprus

Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services, both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner at KPMG Cyprus. Michalis has vast experience in the Ukrainian market and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michalis has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003), Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016), where he currently holds the position of Vice-President (July 2016-today). Michalis is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Associationof Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he also served as a Member of the Board of Directors

George Campanellas, CEO, Invest Cyprus

George Campanellas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He has nearly twenty years of professional experience in Cyprus and abroad, working with the DG Competition in Brussels and directly with the Cypriot Ministers of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism. George has been actively involved in the development of the oil & gas sector in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone, dealing with licensing, exploration and exploitation activities, as well as promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at a regional level. Throughout his career, he also had an active role in drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting Foreign Direct Investment in sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the LNG terminal at Vasilikos Energy Center, Cyprus Techno Park, EuroAsia Interconnector and the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated casino resort and Cyprus’ largest FDI project.

Marios Tannousis, Deputy Director General, Invest Cyprus

Marios Tannousis holds the post of Deputy Director General at Invest Cyprus (Cyprus InvestmentPromotion Agency). He has more than twenty years of international corporate experience, withtwelve years in the international banking and financial services group Societe Generale, wherehe served at various key posts. He is a Member of the Board of the European Fund and AssetManagement Association (EFAMA) as well as the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA)He also served as President of the Cyprus Finance & Leasing Association and Board Member invarious other organizations and bodies.He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities andInvestment (CISI) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA. He is also Certifiedfor offering investment services and has a special interest in Economic Development throughInvestments especially in Banking, Financial Services and Investment Funds.

Stephanie Panayi, Investment Promotion Officer, TourInvest Unit, Invest Cyprus

Stephanie Panayi is an Investment Promotion Officer, leading the TourInvest Unit. She joined Invest Cyprus in 2019. She is experienced in the field of foreign direct investment, investor relationsmanagement, business development and investment promotion. Her role is focused on identifyingand promoting investment opportunities available in Cyprus and ensuring the channeling ofinformation to existing or potential investors, through coordination and implementation of strategiesto attract businesses and investments into Cyprus. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’ s Degree in AppliedForeign Languages and a Master’ s Degree in MSc International Management & Business. Stephanieis also the Young BPW Cyprus Representative of the Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW). She is fluent in Greek, English and French and conversant in Russian.

Maria Clappa, Partner, Tassos Papadopoulos & Associates LLC

Maria joined the firm in 2013 and became a Partner in 2016. Starting her career in the financial services industry as an in-house lawyer, she was later appointed the head of the legal, secretarial and compliancedepartment at one of the largest financial groups in Cyprus. In 2011, she took over as head of fiduciaryservices at a fiduciary service provider in Cyprus. Currently, her practice at the firm is focused on privateinvestments, joint ventures, property acquisitions and developments, immigration law and corporate affairs. She also has expertise in matters such as the formation, licensing and ongoing compliance of AlternativeInvestment Funds, CIFs and other entities and activities in the sphere of financial services. She is alsoregistered as a Certified Person on the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. Maria has contributed articles to various publications on Investments and Business in Cyprus, Cypriot immigration Law. She has an LLB from the University of North London (1998) and was admitted to the Cyprus Bar the following year.She also holds an LLM in Venture Capital from the University of Westminster (2000).

Christos Scordis, Senior Partner, Scordis, Papapetrou & Co LLC

Christos Scordis is one of the partners of SCORDIS, PAPAPETROU & Co (SP&Co) which includes the law firm SCORDIS, PAPAPETROU & Co LLC. SP&Co has offices in Nicosia and Limassol (Cyprus) as well as presence in Moscow, Athens and Valletta, and provides a comprehensive range of legal services specialising in company, commercial, joint venture and financing projects, tax planning, shipping, admiralty, litigation and arbitration both on an international and country specific level. Anja Arsalides, Investment Promotion Officer, Invest Cyprus

Anja Arsalides is an Investment Promotion Officer at Invest Cyprus. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of business development and international client relations, while working in various industries in Germany, the USA, and Cyprus, including Banking and Finance, Investment Funds, as well as the Technology space. During her 10 years’ tenure at Invest Cyprus, she has gained a broad knowledge in all key sectors of the Economy, while promoting Cyprus as an attractive FDI jurisdiction and offering tailored facilitation and support to all foreign investors wishing to establish a European or regional headquarter in Cyprus.

Dr. Shadi Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors– Independent Director, Astrobank

Dr. Shadi A. Karam is a graduate of the American University of Beirut, Columbia University and Harvard University, USA. He was Vice-President of Merrill Lynch s.a.m. in Monaco. He has served as Chairman and Managing Director (CEO) of several companies in various sectors ranging from textiles and apparel to metallurgic industries, hotels, real estate development, financial companies, private equity and commercial banks, in various European countries, GCC countries and in Lebanon. He was Chairman and General Manager of BLC Bank, Lebanon (2002-2008), Chairman of BLC Bank, France (2002-2009). He was Senior Economic Advisor to the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michel Sleiman for the duration of his term (May 2008 to May 2014) and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Tammam Salam (May 2014 to November 2016). He is the Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce in Lebanon. He holds several decorations from various countries.

Theo Parperis is a Partner at PwC Cyprus. He is a member of the Management Board of the company andHead of Tax and Legal Services. He has vast experience in Tax and Statutory Compliance for Internationalgroups, advising and assisting International Clients with group restructuring plans, providing solutionsfor private clients and High Net Worth Individuals, covering their corporate and private wealth interests,family office structuring, corporate and private wealth consolidation and reporting, tax and legal support in acquisition/sale of private assets and citizenship & naturalisation services. Theo is primarily engagedwith international clients operating in a broad range of sectors, including trade in oil and commodities (e.g.metals), transportation, shipping, tourism, manufacturing, information and technology. He is a graduate ofLondon School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He is also a full member of STEP. Theo has also served a spresident of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) from June 2011 to June 2013.

Andreas Hadjioannou, Managing Director, Fiduserve Group

Andreas Hadjioannou is the Managing Director of the Fiduserve Group with over 15 years’ experience in the Corporate Services and Fiduciary Sector. Andreas holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with specialization in Finance, and a Masters in Actuarial Science. Andreas has lead the expansion of the Group in Hong Kong and Asia, and the addition of wealth management and asset protection services to its core offering of Corporate Management Services. These include Private Fund structures, Trustee services, andTransaction Advisory and M&A opportunities for investments in the Alternatives area. Andreas also holds anumber of non-executive positions in, or acts in an advisory capacity to, the management boards of family offices and investment groups.

Nanette Kalava, Partner – Corporate & Commercial Department, Kinanis LLC

Nanette Kalava is a Partner at Kinanis LLC and heads the Corporate and Commercial Department of the firm. Before joining Kinanis LLC in 2007 she was employed by two of the Big Four accounting firms in Greece and Cyprus where she gained valuable experience on international taxation consulting. Her main areas ofpractice are Corporate and Commercial Law, Banking and Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Reorganisations, Trusts and Estate Planning offering legal advice to a broad range of international clientsas well as international law firms on Cyprus Law matters. Nanette has extensive experience in the settingup of Cyprus International Trusts and has also participated as panel speaker on Succession Planning inthe China Offshore Summit held in Shanghai. Nanette is also a Certified Trainer of Vocational Training accredited by the Human ResourceDevelopment Authority in Cyprus.

Andreas Yiasemides, President, Cyprus Investment Funds Association

Andreas Yiasemides is the President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and a Partner at PwC Cyprus, in charge of the Fund Services of the organisation. On his graduation from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Economics, he joined PwC in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (FCA). He continued his career with the Bank of Cyprus, holding various positions including heading the Custody and Trusts Unit. He then moved on to an organisation of professional services where he set up and led the Fund Services Unit. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus and of the Central Bank of Cyprus as well as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He is also Vice Chairman  of the Cyprus National Advisory Council of Charter Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Andreas Yiasemides has also been elected as the President of the Cyprus India Business Association.

Charis Kynigou, Head of Private Banking, AstroBank

Charis Kynigou started her career in Athens at an information provider firm, Moneyline TelerateS.A, as an Account Executive. After that, in 2005 she entered into Private Banking, with Citibank International plc as a Relationship Manager to Citigold. She then joined the Piraeus Bank Group asa Senior Relationship Manager for Private Banking/Wealth Management, managing Private Wealth Portfolios. In 2010 Piraeus Wealth Management entered into a Joint Venture with BNP Paribas Wealth Management S.A and then she joined BNP PARIBAS Suisse S.A as the Head of International Partnership Desk, serving Greek Clients in Zurich. She was mainly in charge of the Greek and Cypriot desk in Zurich. In February 2015 she moved back to Cyprus after 19 years of International Experience, at Piraeus Bank Group as Head of Piraeus Private Banking. She holds a Degree in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE) and an MSc in Financial Economics from Cardiff University. Charis Kynigou is also a member of the Cyprus Stock Exchange Council, member of Cifa Wealth Management Committee and Chairwoman of the CSE Pension Fund.

Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited

Lawrence Ho is the Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited and Melco International Development Limited. He oversees the companies’ 21st century vision and strategy, forging the way ahead in global gaming and entertainment.
