Michalis P. Michael, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Invest Cyprus
Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services,both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner at KPMG Cyprus. Michalis has vast experience in theUkrainian market and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michalis has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003),Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016), where he currently holds the position of Vice-President (July 2016-today). Michalis is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he also served as a Member of the Board of Directors.

George Campanellas, CEO, Invest Cyprus
George Campanellas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He has nearly twenty years of professional experience in Cyprus and abroad, working with the DG Competition in Brussels and directly with the Cypriot Ministers of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism. George has been actively involved in the development of the oil & gas sector in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone, dealing with licensing, exploration and exploitation activities, as well as promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at a regional level. Throughout his career, he also had an active role in drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting Foreign Direct Investment in sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the LNG terminal at Vasilikos Energy Center, Cyprus Techno Park, EuroAsia Interconnector and the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated casino resort and Cyprus’ largest FDI project.

Charalambos Meivatzis, Partner, Head of Tax, Accounting and VAT, Kinanis LLC
Charalambos Meivatzis is a Partner and the Head of the Tax, Accounting and VAT services of Kinanis LLC. He is a qualified lawyer member of the Cyprus Bar Association and a qualified Chartered Accountant member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) as well as a member of the Cyprus Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). With more than 15 years of experience, he acted as tax advisor and performed financial and tax due diligence, in numerus M&A deals as well as banking and financing transactions addressing all issues with a holistic approach by combining his legal and accounting backgrounds. He also assisted a number multinational organisations in setting up and relocating their regional Headquarters in Cyprus.

Charalambos Sergiou, Partner, Tax Advisory, PwC Cyprus
Charalambos Sergiou is a Tax Partner in Tax Advisory team at PwC Cyprus. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He started his career with PwC in Cyprus and he has also worked ona secondment in PwC Russia heading the PwC’s Cyprus tax desk in Moscow. Pambos has more than fifteen years of experience in Cyprus and international tax and has been advising a variety of clients across different industries including oil and gas, banking, insurance, asset management, automotive,pharmaceuticals and real estate structures with regards to Cyprus and international tax matters. He follows a holistic approach with a focus on international tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, deal structuring and financing. He is primarily focused on Russian and CIS markets and he isamong the lead partners of PwC Cyprus focusing on the tax consulting and business development effortsin relation these markets.

Costas Markides, Board Member, KPMG Limited
Costas Markides is a Board Member at KPMG Limited. He is a Southern Illinois University graduateholding a Masters degree in Accountancy with special concentration on International Taxation. He hasbeen the recipient of two full academic scholarships and has graduated first in his class at the College of Business Administration with a perfect score. In 2016, he has been nominated for induction into the College of Business Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors bestowed to an alumni. Costas is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).Before taking up employment with KPMG, Costas worked as the director of research at The Center of Financial and Tax Planning in the US. He returned to Cyprus in 1999 and was employed in one of the Big4 in Cyprus. As of 2002 he has been working for KPMG in Cyprus and he has been accepted as a Memberof the Board as of 2011. Costas is a specialist in the field of International Taxation and is a regular speaker at various seminars that are being organized in Cyprus and abroad. He is the author of numerous Taxrelated articles in professional publications in Cyprus and the US. Costas has been active in advisingclients on efficiently structuring their international tax affairs in and through Cyprus. He is also headingthe Global Mobility and Transfer Pricing Services divisions within KPMG.

George Z. Georgiou is the Managing Partner at George Z. Georgiou & Associates LLC, a full-service law firm based in Cyprus. He is also an Associate Tenant of Littleton Chambers, London. He graduated in Lawfrom Bristol University, UK and was called to the Bar of England & Wales (Inner Temple) and the Cyprus Bar. Marios G. Eliades has been a Partner at Tassos Papadopoulos & Associates LLC since 1997. According to Chambers and Partners, Marios “is well recognised for his experience in international litigation anddraws praise from clients for being a "strong, invaluable business partner." Marios focuses on advising and representing clients in matters of banking and finance, M&A, corporate and commercial, trusts,competition and employment law. Michael Michaelides, Director, Tax & Legal Services, Business Tax, Deloitte
Michael Michaelides is a Director in the Business Tax department of Deloitte Cyprus, with over 10 years of experience, specialising in local and international taxation. He offers tax compliance and tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Michael commenced his career in 2008, with Deloitte UK in London where he qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) and spent more than three years providing assurance services to financial services clients. In 2011, Michael joined Tax & Legal at DeloitteCyprus. Since then, Michael has been advising clients on their day-to-day tax affairs, as well as on thetax implications arising from corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions. Philippos Raptopoulos, Head of Tax and Legal Services, EY Cyprus
Philippos Raptopoulos is the Head of Tax and Legal Services of EY in Cyprus. He joined EY in 2008 afterserving for 10 years in a senior position with the Cyprus Tax Department and has experience in all areas of the Cyprus tax legislation and tax controversy. Philippos is a qualified Certified Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), the Tax Policy Committee of ICPAC, and the Cyprus Treaty Negotiation Team. Moreover, he is skilled in both local and international taxation, specifically in advising clients on tax legislation, tax due diligence, tax controversies, international tax advisory, and tax modelling.

Anja Arsalides joined Invest Cyprus in 2010. During her career path, she has gained broad experiencein the field of business development and international client relations, while promoting the country inall key sectors of the Economy. Prior to this, she has worked in the USA, including the Financial Sectorat Bank of America’s corporate banking division in Dallas, Texas. Another important career milestoneincluded the German Futures & Options Exchange in Frankfurt, where she was part of the marketsurveillance team overseeing regulations and supporting the exchange members.
